Information

Welcome to the website of CnaG, Aotearoa. The aim of the branch is to promote the Irish language in Aotearoa and create a space for everyone with an interest in the language. We recognise that everyone has a different relationship with the language and that there are various groups in the country who deserve to be catered for- from native speakers to learners, people from Ireland who will live here temporarily and those who have immigrated permanently, from children to older people and those whose interest stems from their Irish heritage.

We also recognise the indigenous language of Aotearoa, Te Reo Māori, and that there are differences and similarities between our two languages and their statuses. We would love to strengthen links with Te Reo speakers and reflect on our common experiences in language revitalisation.

You will be able to find information and details here on events, meetings, conversation groups and classes. Please contact us if you have questions or suggestions or would like to get more information
